An Illegal Beaner has been charged with shooting another man during a robbery last week at a car wash in the Irving Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
Roberto Vargas, 19, faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery with the discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm, all felonies, according to court records.
On Friday, Cook County Judge Laura Marie Sullivan ordered him held on a $1 million bond, court records show.
Vargas, of the 1500 block of North Kostner, was identified as one of two suspects who participated in the robbery and shooting of a 44-year-old man on Jan. 26, according to an arrest report.
