Carolyn Lee Andrew

A 1981 homicide case in Duluth has been solved using DNA technology and the details are expected to be released Monday by the Duluth Police and Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Law enforcement hasnt confirmed the case is that of 17-year-old Carolyn Lee Andrew, but police have revisited her case over the years.

On May 6, 1981, a passerby found Andrews partially submerged body face down with a single bullet wound to her head at Twin Ponds near Enger Park. She had been shot in the right temple at close range with a small-caliber gun, police said at the time. Lab tests showed she had no signs of trauma or defensive wounds.
